The Pan-African Audiovisual and Cinema Observatory (PACO) presents itself as an essential lever for sustainable cultural development offering an enlightening perspective on the attractiveness and vitality of the audiovisual and cinematographic sector in Africa.

Our mission
Collect, process, and analyze data on the cinematographic and audiovisual markets of countries on the African continent.
By providing quality data, the Observatory supports decision-makers, professionals, investors, creators, and other stakeholders.
Its objective is to contribute to the sustainable growth and development of the audiovisual and cinema industry on the African continent, by promoting access to relevant and reliable information for all stakeholders involved.
Our vision
It is anchored in the realization of the ideals of the Pan-African Cultural Manifesto of Algiers of 1969. Inspired by the recommendations of UNESCO, WIPO, the African Union, and other institutions working for African cultural policies , the Observatory aims to be a driver of sustainable and fulfilling development for the audiovisual and cinematographic industry in Africa. By responding to historical debates and aligning with inspiring sources, PACO aspires to shape a rich and diverse media landscape on the continent.


Our Status
The Observatory is implemented by the Pan-african Audiovisual and Cinema Observatory ("Observatoire Panafricain de l'Audiovisuel et du Cinéma" in French) association under the reference N°W92311466 created on May 18, 2023 in Boulogne -Billancourt which is a 1901 law association headed by Madame Souad HOUSSEIN with a team of professionals and specialist experts in cultural industries, and cinema and audiovisual in particular.
